Stuck making just under 6psi

I dont think its my wastegate actuator anymore. My car drives fine and has no problems making 6psi, but thats all I can squeeze out of it. No vaccum leaks, no boost leaks, everything is hooked up correctly, turbos are in great condition, no smoking. Doesnt seem to make too much sense. Well, when it first started doing this I had a lot of electrical issues and it made my PFC go nuts. Something I've never heard of. It reset a bunch of values. I've read that the PFC can control boost for the sequential system. Problem is Im non-sequential. I've tried putting a MBC on there (one that works too) and no matter what I set it at, the boost wont go past 6psi. Could my PFC be at fault? Would it make sense for it to limit boost to 6psi on a non-sequential system?

IF i am not mistaken, if you have the MBC controlling your boost, you must set the power fc boost value about that of what is being set on your boost controller
ie. if you are running 1 psi of boost, set values at 1 baron pfc.

There was a thread in the pfc area on teh forum.. I'll see if I can find it

try that... ... I'm also not saying I am right
good luck

Problem is, with all mbc's, you dont really know what boost your setting it at until you get in the car, romp it, and see how high your boost gauge reads.

I have the same problem as well.I can only make a max of 6.5 psi
What mods are you running? Do you have a straight through exhaust or do you still have either the pre cat or main cat installed?
Im thinking a clogged cat might be my problem.

Stock DP with cats removed, rx7 store midpipe, racing beat exhaust. Ported wastegate too. The car was running mega rich for a good couple hundred miles, but the only thing to clog would be the resonator, and I doubt running rich for just a couple hundred miles clogged that thing.

I may have a clogged stock main cat since the air pumps been dead for a little over a year now.
Either that or I have a huge airleak somewhere unlikely.Like the LIM or a turbine housing

I've run into this issue as well. One day my car was running strong at 10-8-10 then a few days later when I drove it again I get 6-5-6. It's so weird because these types of problems just seem the "happen". Nothing was done to the car it just sat there for a few days. I checked as many connections as I could without taking off the UIM. I haven't done the hose job yet so there may be a problem in the rat's nest. Looking at it on the bright side, this mean I'm putting less stress on the engine.

You have had this problem for quite a while now, and you keep posting about it. Have you actually checked your actuators yet? And if so, did you check them with a hand pump? It could be that your actuators are either not within spec or they might just be busted. Also, you need to test your solenoids with a 12V power source. Start from there.

Man I hope my actuators arent busted either. How much is it to replace them? I may just replace them all if its feasible and not very costly. One things for sure.
Last night I took the car out and it was very cold.Once again they most I could get ot of it is maybe 6.9 psi.I opened up the car and it started to backfire like crazy in the higher rpms.Im not sure if it was because it was cold and maybe the car hadnt warmed up enough or if it was due to some toher reason. But one thing I did smell in the cabit shortly thereafter was a rotten egg smell.Thats why I think the cat may be somewhat clogged.Weird thing is it doesnt smell like that all the time.also how much backpressure do our cars produce with a catback and downpipe? I felt my friends exhaust to see how much pressure the exhaust put out and it came out fairly strong. His car is a 97 prelude. The I felt mine and I can barely feel the exhaust energy flow on my hand.Yet another reason I think my cat may be blocked.
Question
Can I punch out my cat and still be safe? Check out my mods.Youll see I dont have any fuel enrichment yet.Meaning no ecu.I do have a boost controller but Im sure it will be fairly useless with a straight through exhaust. In any case My buddy has a white fd with a resonated midpipe and a non ported wastegate running non sequential and he doesnt get boost creep up here in colorado. So I figured I may be alright. Then again hes also runnign a bit rich and he also has a Apex power fc.
