Is the stock tranny cooler good enough to cool down the tranny fluid?

My auto stock radiator cracked recently and i swapped in a practically new brass stock manual transmission radiator. If you're familar with an automatic car setup, it has an oil cooler sitting on the drivers side in the front and a tranny cooler sitting in front of the passenger side, some mistake it as a dual oil cooler that the "R" versions have. I fixed some of the dented aluminum fins with a flat head screwdiver on the tranny core and swapped in the brass radiator. But my main concern is if the stock external tranny cooler is good enough to cool down the auto tranny? because I'm just thinking about doing a straight hose from the tranny cooler into the tranny, instead of the original set up of tranny cooler-into the bottom endtank of the radiator and back out into the tranny. For the most part, this is just temporary until i can get an automatic radiator.
