*Mitsu Lancer Evo

You will have a tough time with:

man you think im ignorant, aparently you havent done your research on the rx-7, if you accually own an FD, i think it is time you sell it and buy one of the following
mitsu 3000gt vr-4
mitsu lancer
mustang gt
300zx
or even your neon turbo
after you do we can race and i will wipe the floor with you everytime.
the same goes for it if your talking about any mustang cobra besides the 2003+ edition.

btw i have already wiped the floor with a c5 vette, camaro z28, porsche 911, and a 320 hp wrx. I think it is time you either sell your car, or learn how to drive it, you will get much better results.

Grow up little boy. If you think a STOCK FD is faster than any of those cars with EQUAL DRIVERS, you are living in a dream world. Any honest member of this forum will agree with me -- and so do physics....

Again, this is with a STOCK FD, as that was the point of the thread.....

No , youre wrong, hes right

Stock FD can take a stock 911, modded WRX and a C5. It will likely depend on the driver. An FD will destroy those SRT Neons

where are you getting your performance figures from? 3rd gen will run 0-60 in 5 seconds and do the quarter mile in 13.7

A stock FD will beat:
z28 LS1 camaro
c5 convertible vette
Pre 2003 cobra
mitsubishi vr-4 (any year)
neon turbo
carrera

A stock FD will run identical (can go either way) with:
MKIV Supra (although my stock FD is faster than my stock MKIV)

Stock FD will lose to:
Lancer EVO
ss camaro (close race)
any 6 spd vette non convertible ls1 or 6
03 cobra
trans am ls1

and the fd will absolutely RAPE a v8 mustang stock for stock

Lancer EVO
doubtful, check the above link to the vid. filmed that a while back, both cars stock, and the evo 5 is the fastest.

acceleration yes it wins, but top speed of only 150 means i pull past it at around 120ish

No doubt, but I was referring to quarter mile runs, sorry I didn't make that clear. And I think quarter mile is overrated anyway.

ah no prob mate, quarter mile definitely wouldnt win unless they couldnt drive lol.

and i think its overrated too, get the cars on a track thats the way to test them, and that video on the other page shows how the rx7 outclasses everything

I get my numbers from the mags and the REAL WORLD.

A 911 and a C5 have been tested to very low 13s with 106-110 mph traps. And a stock FD will beat that how?

All the mags have tested the new Neons at high 13s with over 100 mph trap speeds. That will give a stock FD a run for it's money.

You people are seriously deluded. On a street, it's always possible that you may beat any of these cars, but with EQUAL DRIVERS, you are going to get beat.

BTW, it comes off funny when you come on here and say what an FD will do on the street when you don't even have one...

well my single turbo supra is pretty even with my buddy aarons rx-7 and he had just basic mods not even his new greddy fmic... this is with both cars at 11psi, i think thats what he was running... so stock for stock it should be very even, with the rx-7 probably taking a car length lead by 4th gear due to gearing (6-spd/5-spd)

Wrong. I've never heard of a stock FD beating a stock Supra TT on the highway. Every test in any mag shows the Supra TT pulling 103-104+ mph traps in the 1/4 with the FD pulling 99-101 mph.

Besides, you can't conjecture what the cars will run stock from modded cars.

ok, but who has bone stock 7 or supra... he's really not talking about a stock 7 either, it does have a few mods...

I have had my supra for 3 years and I have seen lots of various 1/4's and I have yet to see a bone STOCK Supra TT 6-spd pull a high 13, more like 14.0-14.5 at around 100mph... then again most of the stock supra TT's are driven by 17-18 year old kids who got the car as a gift from their parents... I was at this place in berlin and i was looking at 7's this kids parents bought him a 94 tt 6-spd for 32k and he had no idea what he was talking about... it was funny...

I have a BONE STOCK 93 R1 with 15K miles on it...

But I also have a Modded 93 R1 with 50K miles. After driving both this past weekend I can say there is a big difference between the power of the modded vs. stock Rex. Stock is still plenty fast (and quiet) But today's cars are putting the power to the pavement. Dont underestimate that neon and sad as it sounds. It's no Hemi but they do run...

PS. The modded car is more fun to drive but the stock is more pleasant...

You guys scare me sometimes on this board. I've had an FD for 9 years and I've had it over 140 all of ONE time and because the time was ripe, the road open, and this ******* seemed to think he was somehow going to gain on me if he kept trying (it got much worse for him but at least he tried).

Where are you guys racing at these speeds so much? Closed Track I hope. Every race I've ever been in except one or two is way over by 80-100. Once I'm a few lengths ahead and have stayed there any significant length of time I consider it done.

that vid was shot at 3am on a stretch of road renound for being empty, and the visibility was perfect, the second i saw some headlights i would of backed straight off.

there isnt any houses or anything nearby so no real pedestrian danger either.
dont worry, im normally very careful with my car, dont want to stone chip it! but when a cocky evo driver asks you for a race?? how could i say no! lol
