![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
How do you know when the starter is going bad? My car has a hard time starting every once in a while, but not all the time. My Power FC is telling me that my battery has enough juice to start the car. 12.2V with the car off, and 13.2V with the engine running. I know it's not the motor taking a dump, just did a compression test last week and the numbers are the same as the day the new motor ws dropped in.

you try doing a load test on the battery? most parts stores will test your battery for free... voltage doesn't mean too much if the battery can't put out enough amps... check the connections too... by connections I mean all of them, starter, battery, grounds...

take the starter apart and check the bearings and brushes replace if needed then sand down the commentater (spelling) and undercut the insolators with a broken hacksaw blade, cut down about .020 in this may save you some money
