Today was the first time I've been able to look at my car. Been pretty busy lately. Anyhow we've dediced to go with a 4 link setup. We're going to order the rod-ends and hex tubes monday so I should be rolling again by wednesday. I'll keep it updated.

Change of plans. We've decided to do a 4 link instead of the ladder bar setup. We've made the brackets for the lowers and have the bars installed. Tommorow we will be making the brackets for the uppers. We'll might change out the gears and install the upgraded gurdle as well. We'll have the car up and rolling by the weekend so friday I'll probably order my WILWOOD Brake setup and 31 Spline Axles. We've done all the right geometry for the car to pull some nice wheelies. My new slicks came in the mail yesterday so hooking up is something I won't have a problem with.
Pictures coming tommorow.

Here are some pics of my 4-link Ford 8.8 Rear end setup. We're going to fab up the pan hard bar tonight so you can't see that yet. My Wilwood brakes should be here tuesday so I should have them on that night and I will get pictures then.

Come on guys! A full day (Edit: ok not quite..) after Eric puts up some progress pics and no-one has started the next round of bashing yet? LOL
Even if not everyone likes the idea, it's nice to see that people are still sharing ideas with one another. I thought that's what the plan was in the first place?
Good job man. Keep us posted.

Hooking up.
I'll leave the turns for my moped.

You removed the rear subframe? That'll make the car a lot weaker in the rear right?
What's the plan with the fuel line running right over by the exhaust?
There are those good enough questions?

No I'm thinking the subframe is a pretty structural part of the car. Much more than the 3 little aluminum braces under the car bridging the driveline tunnel. I'm wondering how much additional flex there will be without it.
No doubt the diff and axles will be stronger than stock.

We made my drive shaft today, finished my panhard bar, installed my new gears, installed the new studs and installed my new wilwood brakes. They looks awesome. We'll be making a new transmission mount tommorow morning so it's going to be time for a drive soon

If you have the cage I can see that you have added a significant amount of strength, if not the rear of the lost a lot of structure, plenty strong is probably much weaker than before.

good luck with the project. i dont think anyone (jeff) is "picking" on you. i think he is honestly asking legimitamate questions. you can come off as you know it all by getting defensive when asked questions. try to take what people say as being helpfull.

The reason I think the car will have plenty of structure left is because we've made braces from one side of the car to the other.......and so forth.
