Start/Idle issue with Power FC
Just installed an Apexi PowerFC in my 93', Car was in limp mode prior to PFC and throwing codes. Now after the power fc is in, I believe it is no longer in limp mode and I know for sure there are no more codes being shown, BUT it takes a very long time for it to start up with gas pedal to floor... Once cranked the idle is very rough/low and I have to manually keep it alive... The car has gas in it and spark plugs were changed... Any help would be great.
Thanks

Uhm, if your car was in limp mode and throwing codes did you try finding out why? A new ecu should not be your solution for getting out of limp mode... I have a power fc too, I'm not positive, but I don't think the power fc has a "limp mode" or can detect and check engine light codes. If you did nothing to fix the source problem, you really should throw in the stock ecu, pull the codes, find out what they mean, and fix the problem. Once your code free and out of limp mode with the stock ecu go back to the power fc install.
Also, did you do the power fc idle learning procedure? If not read the power fc manual from cover to cover, its not very big... Also, take a look at the power fc specific sub forum. Once again, make sure you fixed the source problem with the stock ecu and the car runs ok with the stock ecu b4 trying to get a power fc working. (if you have alot of mods you may not be able to get it work perfectly with the stock ecu... but it will with the power fc) Also, the base maps on the power fc are some what "safe" but you really should get it tuned to perfection by a very good tuner who knows what he or she is doing.
Hope this somewhat helps, good luck.

You need to start by checking the sensor screen and making sure all the sensors are reading in the proper ranges. After that, go to this thread:

Had Power FC in before, sold it. Tried putting resistors, OMP, and ISC in for emmissions along with stock ecu, but it stayed in limp mode. I was told that I should just put another power FC back in so I did. The power fc I put back in is computer only no commander tuned for my setup.
