Spark plug question about leading and trailing....

why would you need to swith them? the trailing is used for emission purposes. do a search on the site. this has been explained a few times. you can run the car on all the same. i dont think your motor would be "f'ed" as martini put it. but it would not start if the WIRES were crossed. the actual plug i dont think it would make a big difference in starting up. i use all leading plugs in my rx2. my other rx's i use leading and trailing in the proper locations. the # just refers to the heat range of the plug.ask martini to ask the guys at the walmart that change his oil. LOL! sorry martini, i just couldnt resist that! i just remembered a post you made a few months back after i saw your name on this thread. no hard feelings? cool.

the trailing does nto only help emmisions, but power. It helps achieve complete combustions of all the gases. If wires are switch to wrong ones, it wodl depend on how you drove it. Just idle probably wouldn't kill anything, drive it like the bitch it is and say good bye.

It also sacrifices top end. My buddy bought a 91 N/A and I floored that thing on the highway to max out at 100mph even. So I did some research, since I have an 89 TII with a list of mods that has done 160+ on a number of occasions. So I found out later that his plugs were switched. I changed to the right set up, and the 91 N/A maxed at 122. Hmm....weird but true.
