Looks overall a good paint job but yes I have to agree with those who say to remove that air intake cover.

You can say what you want...but after seeing this photo...now i know the did a shitty job masking off the parts that shouldnt have been painted. So...im pretty sure your eventually realize that the parts that were black to begin with...shouldve stayed that way. And how much did you spend on this paint job? I'd take it back and have the strip down the plastic peices so you can possibly use some Satin Krylon Fusion on them. Also...theres alotta overspray on the inside of the wheel wells....but that can easily be painted yellow as well...to match the flow

Let me guess.....you wanted the key hole to match the flow as well right? And uh....your Rx7 badge is crooked

Ummmk....thats my opinion

I didn't see those photos! I don't think Maaco does that poor of a paint job. Poor FD.

are his 2 seconds over?

painting a car without removing all the plastic parts to not paint them or do them separately will result in eventually cracking and peeling paint, starting where the body meets the plastic parts... tsk tsk, a good example of a cheap, bad paint job. Sorry kid.

i agree that the paint looks bad, but i'm younger than he is and just judging by what he has said, i'm about 10 times more mature. but yeah, i would have never done that to my car.

I shouldnt be saying this seeing as Im only 22, but God I wish there was an age limit on owning one of these cars....

That said, leave the poor kid alone, he just spent 3 months of his income to paint his car, and all you guys can do is dog on him. That is terrible.

...Im sorry, I shouldnt have said that, I just feel that bad taste shouldnt be punished with perfectly correct comments...er, sorry again, didnt mean to imply that the paint job was in any way low quallity.

Anyway, thanks for replying in the typical child fashion. You are feeding the stereotype in a very stereotypical manner. Is that a grammatically correct sentence? It sounded good. Someone should just get me a pasifier so I shut up....Ok, Im done.

Im sorry, that wasnt very tactful. I just feel that anyone with an attitude like that shouldnt own a car as powerful (potentially) as an FD. I know from personal experience that owning a fast car at a young age is not conducive to a long healthy life, I myself having almost died in a very serious 100+ mph rollover.

Bad attitude on forums = bad attitude in real life (wait, forums arent real? What?), and a bad attitude = driving like an *******. ******** usually ruin their cars in high speed wrecks, hurting or possibly killing themselves, or FAR worse, someone else. Anyway, the moral of the story is, dont be an ******* on these forums, because that means you are going to be an ******* in, dare I say it, real life. And then you are going to be stupid and get someone killed. Logical, no?

I drive very responsibly and obey all speed limits. On average, I would say that I have 2 pissed of drivers pass me each day because they can't drive 55. I hope you're not saying that because I am young means I can't drive responsibly and dont deserve my car. I bought this car with my hard earned money and the last thing I want to do is ruin it.

Off topic, but you are actually an incredibly dangerous, irresponsible and inconsiderate driver if you behave like this. The California Vehicle Code has actually a prohibition on obstructing the flow of traffic in this way (irrespective of the speed limit). Be self righteous in your own time, not someone else's.

I don't think age is the real issue here (many current F1 drivers started in F1 around the age of 20; most were driving carts when they were five or six). I've met many very mature 19-year-olds; many are still children however. The number of ruined FDs around is pretty sad though and the problem is only getting worse as more kids buy them as the price goes down and maintenance costs go up.

Perhaps you should follow your own advice?

I've posted many pics of my car up on the forum over the years.

I assume your latest post was in response to the Maaco comment? Well, it's true. Whoever painted it didn't even mask off key holes for pete's sake! I just think it's sad that the body shop you took the car to ripped you like that.

Why didn't you paint the side window frames, door handles, and windshield wipers yellow? That would have really set it off.

Anyone know what rims these are on the second Rex? The non-Montego Blue one. I love those rims everytime I see that car. Of coarse I would also like to have the Apexi side skirts and the 99 spec spoiler, but rims are first on my list.
