Question solenoids interchangable?

i know its been posted before, but i forgot what the answer was. i just ran a search and it didnt pop up on the first page or two, so i thought id just ask: are the different vacuum solenoids interchangable?

for example, could i use a turbo control solenoid in place of the purge control solenoid?

and if anybody has an excellent condition purge control solenoid or something comperable for sale, please email me with your price.

rx7speed811@hotmail.com

thanks in advance.

The solenoids on the rack itself are interchangable; the turbo control is not one of these.

SOME of the solenoids on the rack are interchangable.

The 3rd and 6th from the back are the same, and the different from the rest. The 3rd and the 6th are PN 18-740A, and the rest of the solenoids in the rack are PN 13-240 as is the solenoid on top of the rack...(H in the vacuum diagram). At least that is what I can gather from the parts sheet.

Call Ray at Malloy Mazda if you have any questions.

I have that if you need it.

I think it is 18-740E. However, the part sheet is a bit confusing there....

I will sell it to you for $15-20. It came of my car...and is working, but I don't know how many miles are on it.

Actually, the more I look at the parts diagram, the more I am unsure if they are interchangable.

They have a beginning part number that I missed....

Like 1480-13-240A...then 1481-13-240A

I can give you a link to download the parts list...or you can call Ray at Malloy Mazda (1-800-533-3400)

Ok...

I think I have tracked down the correct answer. All the solenoids that have 3 nipples in the rack are interchangeable.

If you search for "interchangeable" in the 3rd section...you will find a post about this.

Wade Lanham says they are. I trust him very much. Here is his web page...

http://www.newwave.net/~flanham/wlanham/

He knows his stuff.

So, as of right now...I think they are interchaneable.

I mailed the big list to ask...I will see what they say.
