Ok i fixed the hunting idle, not really sure what it was but i took of the mani and replaced the hoses and made sure every thing was right. But not my car idles at 2000 consistantly. I have the verticle and horizontal screws out and i have put the air bleed screw all the way, the one under the TB. That brought it down to 1500. What other things am i missing. i was searching and some guys said cover up elbow with your hand and see if the engine dies. That will tell you if you have a big leak some where. Is this safe? Thanks Marc

As for covering up the elbow with your hand trick: Yeah, that works great. If the car dies, then you probably don't have a leak past the TB. If the car keeps running (make sure you seal of the elbow completely) then you most likely have a large leak on one of the gaskets.

A trick that I use that works a little better involves the use of Carb Cleaner. While the engine is running, spray the cleaner all around any major connection points (such as engine to LIM, LIM to UIM, UIM to TB, etc). You'll notice a difference in the way the engine runs if the cleaner gets sucked into it due to a leak. This can also be done with a mist of water, but you gotta be careful with that.

That trick may also work for finding leaks in the vacuum lines, but that would be kinda difficult considering you really cant accurately spray anything into the rack while the UIM is still on.

Did you happen to run an error code check? That may tell you if you have a short in the electrical system that could be causing an idle prob.

Did you move that air bleed screw all the way in or out?

K i moved the air bleed screw all the way out and that didnt help. Then put it back in. I did the card cleaner thing and i think its where tha manifolds meet. SO i am going to order a new gasket. I hope this helps. Anyone else got any ideas.
