So I need advice...quick

Alright heres the deal. Right now Im in the middle of looking at a 93' R-1. Its for sale and its relatively cheap, actually very cheap, and this is why Im so cautious. Its got only 10k miles on it and the guy wants 11500. Now he only lives 3 miles from where Im located so, it would be an easy pick up. I called an he says that it purs like a kitten and hes never had a problem with it. Its an automatic, but so what, that would soon be changed after purchasing the vehicle. Leather interior, etc etc. Ive had carfax look it up and the vehicle history is immaculate. The guy selling it is the original owner and Im heading over there tomorrow to check it out and take it for a drive. Is there anything particular I should look for before buying it? I know its in the stickies and what not. But Im looking for more detailed information. Or is it that this guy just doesnt know what he has on his hands? Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

should be able to tell if the guy is a bullshitter, if he starts going in to all these details about the car like he knows a bunch about it but is selling it cheap, then something is wrong.

but maybe he just looks at is like a normal everyday car and doesnt know the true value of it, some people look at cars like a do a toothbrush " they are all the same damn thing"

that is how i got a good deal on my 03 cobra an older lady owned it and i got it for a good deal. her husband bought it for her, he was a car dealer and they seperated and she was selling her "mustang" to buy a focus.

IIRC correctly, no R1s were made in auto.

What both of you mentioned is what had me concerned. He says its 10k on the actual motor, and right away I thought BS. As for no R-1s being made with auto tranny...I have no idea. The carfax report says its an R1, he didnt advertise it a such but I guess Ill have to see when I get there. Is there a way to tell through the VIN, because obviously Im just going on what I was told by carfax. But, you guys know what your talking about. So I guess Ill have to wait 'till tomorrow.

an auto can have the R1 suspension upgrade and might have gotten the R1 stamp. or someone could have added it on at some time.
