So I figured out what that clicking noise was

Turns out its part miss on the ignition, and part something is causing my turbos to boost 15 PSI when I get on it. Gonna pull the hose on the wastgate actuator and cap it tomorrow to see if that helps. Dont think its done any damage as the car still idles well, and pulls ~16 in/HG on idle but still, daaaaaaang. Only exhaust mods are a DP and HFC that I had to weld in myself because I was on a budget when the factory cat failed. Also emissions are removed, although I doubt that would have anything to do with my fun boost issue.

Got a few things planned for the next few days including installing Himni Racing Poly motor mounts and capping off that wastegate actuator.

Any other ideas you guys may have as to why the car started misbehaving so badly?

15 psi all the time, or only in cold weather? I would not boost that car at all until you fix that. The factory ecu can only adjust the fuel up to 12 psi, anything above and your running excessively lean. Have you already replaced the vacuum hoses/solenoid valves, what mods have you done to the car?

done a very deep reworking of the vacuum system, and it worked fine until a couple of weeks ago when it started doing its little clicking thing. it'll do 13ish PSI when I go WOT in any kind of weather, usually it stops at 10 and the timing retards, but its gone as high as 15PSI regardless of weather. since this cropped up I stay out of boost as much as possible for fuel efficiency reasons, in addition to this problem. Mods are limited, mainly stock DP and HFC, and emissions removed.

Do you have a boost controller or a Power FC? If you have a downpipe, you need a boost controller, because the sudden increase in exhaust flow will cause random boost spikes.

dont have a boost controller yet, and like I said before, it was fine until about a month ago when it started doing this. Planning on overhauling the suspension first, then a Greddy EBC. I've been doing a little research and im kinda liking the profec b, but im a little ways off from making a final decision on it.
