The owner must have a lot of toys to not put any miles on it. I have a friend that has 9 sport bikes, all of the sickest from the 90's and 2000's and that's the only way I can see someone having lows mile like that. No way that's his only sport car sitting in a garage.

That's one clean machine. From what Rich tells me the owner starts it pretty regularly... and drives it an average of 46 miles a year hahaha.

Yep that is what I meant. Not much in mods done to the car, but if it were bone stock with 900ish miles on it, it would go for big bucks at auction. Way more than in its currently modified condition. I'd say it is the lowest mileage FD in private hands.

On a serious note I just looked on autotrader and cars.com (max 40 FDs on those two sites combined) and either of these cars could be worth lots of money in 5 years.
Regarding David's comments I seriously doubt classic mods like PFS or M2 will cause these cars to loose value they may even increase the value.

Next question is what would any of you fellas be willing to pay for such a car? I think I would pay the original sticker price if I was in the market for a 2nd vehicle in that price range. I've always been a fan of Montego Blue and the tan interior doesn't bother me. White/black would be preferred though.

I'm not a car collection follower and rarely watch the auctions etc...... so I'm sure you have a better sense of what's going on in that world and I realize a bone stock 69 mustang with 900 miles on it is worth more than a modded one with 20k miles no matter how much is invested in those mods but tuner cars could be a different story because a big part of the history of tuner cars like the RX7 and Supra, NSX, STI, EVO, S2K etc... is the customized aftermarket parts that followed them not to the degree of say Ruf with porsches but in that same vein and that may carry over into some aspect of what these cars are worth in a small or big way in 10 or 20 years. I'd love for PFS, M2 and Pettit etc..... to carry some weight or value with their association to this car as time passes but whether or not that happens will be hard to nail down but history certainly supports your theory.

Time will tell as to who is correct but my general feeling is that stock always wins out over modded cars, with some obvious exceptions like Carroll Shelby and a few others. I remember watching Barrett Jackson a few years ago when an RX7 was on the block and they started discussing the next generation of collector's cars, with them concluding that clean, low mileage, and yes, stock versions of these cars will be the thing to collect. And during that auction, several RX7s were sold (it's been a few years since any RX7s went across the block) and the ones that were stock and no mods outsold the others.
So, we may all like the classic mod stuff like PFS and Pettit, but I'm sure that they won't add value. Should have come to this realization before I did all the stuff to my car

Neither of us are collectors so no worries but when I travel far enough down the rabbit hole of thought I start to see you and me (gordon already is LOL)and several other long time members actually being the car collectors of the future and there's no way in hell any us will ever buy a 69 mustang. Will the sons and grand sons of the other hot rod cults continue to be interested in those cars probably but there numbers will dwindle and our #s will increase and demand will take over......or not

Coincidence, I recently drove a VR 93 Base with just over 20k on it. I had never driven a stock suspension FD before. Compared to mine it was like "buttah"....so soft and smooth. It also made me think of putting my stock shifter back in.
The guy also had a VR Touring with 9k., a 95 NSXT with under 1k and a Z32TT with IIRC ~ 40k. I didn't want to leave the garage.
A little off-topic but the car had two of these stickers on it which I'd never seen before. One under the hood and the other in the driver's door-jam. Each with different numbers but same date and dealer code.
I assumed it's a recall sticker. Any confirmation?

..going slightly off topic but in the realm of collector cars that, for me, bridges the gap and that I lusted after and still do to a certain degree: the Buick GNX and the GMC Cyclone. \80's icons. Handling like a truck but straightline turbo power to die for.
PS: they will have to bury me in my FD.

Whenever i see cars like this i cant help but think how cool it would have been to be able to car shop and see all 4 of the 90's great sports cars when they were brand new. New cars just dont move me the way the cars from the 90's did. Time sure has taken its toll on so many of these cars, along with some of their owners.
