i have since searched and read post on passing smog test. i will try the denatured alcohol trick and check the cannister under the uim for fuel. i did not watch to see if they boosted the car. i drove it on the highway for about 30 minutes before the test. but it did set for 5-10 minutes before the test. i only have about 700 miles on new(rebuilt) motor. i have a bonez downpipe and high flow cat everthing else is stock.if anybody has any suggestions they would be appreciated. thank's craig

damn, know how you feel, I would just register the car in a county with no smog testing requirements, it saves you the hassle of having to deal with this every two years.

I don't know what the laws over there are, but I wouldn't want to risk another "fail"...
The easiest thing to help (but i'm not sure if that's all you need) would be to put the stock cat back on, just for the test. There are only 4 bolts total that you need to mess with, and 2 hangars (+ airpump). Borrow one if you must. Some people have passed with dp & hi-flow cat, but I guess you aren't one of them.
G'luck, and don't forget to use any other tricks necessary...

probably not a feasible idea, but how about routing some extra lines from an air source into the exhaust ? i know it's sounds crazy but i've seen it work with other types of cars. maybe the air pump at low rpm and some source for top end maybe boost? or just a axcillary air tank stored in the car and activated just at smog! Again just a crazy idea but i'm ready for the flaming! another thought would be putting the stock crap back on. i know a ton of work, maybe just the cat? good luck & find a friend that works at the smog check station! ha ha

Make sure your air pump is still working and put all the cat back.
