smaller brake booster

is there a smaller one out there that will work, even with some modification? by smaller i mean shorter (closer to the firewall). Ive tried a mazda 929 one, and extended the shaft to the same length as the stock one and it wont work, the diameter is too big. if i could find one the same diameter as the fd one and as short as the 929 one it would work amazingly. thanks for the input!
