slave cylinder not reaching clutch fork?
i recently rebuilt my motor and while it was out i changed the pilot bearing, throwout bearing, wedge collar and wire ring. now that everything is back together i noticed that the piston on the slave cylinder doesn't reach the clutch fork. i did accidently press the clutch when the tranny was out of the car , does the clutch need to be bleed? also i did pull the clutch fork towards the rear of the car to connect the throwout bearing and wedge collar so i'm not sure what i did wrong? thanks in advance

Can you wiggle the fork back and forth? If so you'll need to swing the fork back to get your throwout bearing to engage the wedge collar. After that your fork should be so close you'll have a hard time getting the slave cylinder in there.

Maybe your wedge collar has a break in it? I use a prybar to gentle push the t/o bearing forward, engaging it to the wedge collar. On your setup do they look together?
you don't need to bleed the clutch, but did the piston on the slave cylinder come out of the bore when you depressed the clutch?

goodfellas, the piston did come out of the bore when i pressed the clutch. i played around with it today and bleed the clutch for the hell of it and got the slave cylinder to line up with the clutch fork but now my problem is when i step on the clutch it make a grinding sound - this is in neutral not trying to put the car in gear just stepping on the clutch makes it grind and i have no idea what the problem could be? thanks/ i took few pic's but they are pretty poor quality

bryant, i got impatient and didn't want to wait for autoparts store to get me the alignment tool. i thought that if there was a problem i would find out when putting the engine and tranny together i figured the input shaft would not go in if not correctly aligned, am i an idoit that is going to have to remove the tranny?? thanks
