oreilly's lets your borrow spring compressors. i had some friends do mine, and i had to remove a spring/shock assembly to replace a control arm, its pretty easy. if you dont have a spring compressor, use a table vise and hold a bucket over the shock to shield flying washers/nuts.

i would imagine the whole install could be done in your garage with basic tools and an impact wrench in under 4 hours.
