Shopping for a intake?

i really like the pettit tkt intake but its almost $400 buck....


what also a good intake to use?


mods are
rb cat back
midpipe with hf cat
m2 stage 3 ecu



or is the pettit kit really wroth the money?

you can build your own K&N intake kit for stupid-cheap. $100 - $150.

I'll vouch for the Fighters Garage intake. I designed it - it uses nice pipes with beads rolled on the ends (the flimsy Ebay pipes don't have beads rolled, they want to pop off), a nice silicone elbow to the primary turbo, welded nipple for the airpump air to draw from, heat shield, and real K&N filters.

It's a good, straightforward intake for a fair price.

So the pettit intake is kinda too much I have a stock box with some ebay pipes but fitment is horible so I think the fighter one looks really good how does the heat sheild hold up and can I plug the smog pump with a little filter so there is no turbulense.

You don't have to worry about turbulence with the airpump - it's disengaged at full throttle. But, you can get the airpump-less version of the intake (which costs less if I remember right) and just run a filter on the airpump.

The heat shield is pretty solid, it will hold up really nicely. It's pretty thick and sturdy metal.

Ok great looks like iam going to get the fighter intake and can I make a plate to cover the opening were the stock box went?

Just the blowoff valves. The air pump relief tube gets a special "anti-moo" cap and the blowoff valves vent to atmosphere.

Personally, I would go with the SR Motorsports CAI. While SR is not a well liked name on this forum, the intake box is an exact rip of the M2 CAI. Since M2 isn't around, it's the next best thing.

So both bov u just leave and just hook up the smog pump is there any pictures of the kit not installed



The other kit is nice but way out of my price range and atleast the the pettit and fighter both come with a heat shield

If you don't want it, that's one thing. If you had the money you would get it, then don't buy something just to get something. Look in the classifieds for a used M2/SR CAI or save up and get what you want. You'll be happier in the end getting what you want rather than compromising and just getting "something".
