Sexiest video ever! Just set my GT35R on my block

Hey guys. I have to share this one. I just placed my GT35R and my entire fuel system on my block for sizing and it was too sexy to ignore. It's a GT35R T4 housing from A-Spec. The secondaries are 1680cc and I wired the resistors to the harness on the cabin side of it. Enjoy the vid as much as I do.

Just ordered my turbo kit from a-spec right before christmas, should be getting it in the next couple weeks. Congrats on getting her all mocked up. I'm sure I'll be just as excited when I get mine.

+ on the ID2000s.

I hope that Fpr is actually a legitimate brand. Dont be unsure and run a knock off Fpr.

You have a good thing going with these organized/informative videos. Keep it up.

Skip 2000cc injectors. What's the point on a gt35? To impress people on the internet? It's only going to make injector staging harder.

Actually it will make it easier than his bosch injectors.

I've been meaning to order some Id2000s and try them as well. If their claims are real, they is a benefit to running them.

And when do you think he will see low enough pulsewidths on secondaries to need the ID2000's? Shoot the latency itself will get you past the non linearity of the 1600. Staging usually doesn't use those low of opening values. If he was going to idle with 1600's it might be a good idea but not as secondaries.

rdhma, I just wanted to say that I've watched a few of your videos and they are a lot of help on explaining some of the systems within the RX7. I am actually in the middle of pulling my engine myself and it looks like we have the exact same cars haha. I have a A-Spec 500R and will be getting the motor rebuilt with 3mm seals and all. You're a few steps ahead of me seeing that the engine is already out of your car, I'm still working on it

This is my build thread if you'd like to follow along! Good luck with the rest of your build.

I agree, I was thinking of swapping my two 1680cc primaries for two 1000 ID injectors but for the same reason you mentioned keeping the four 1680 cc secondaries.

I'd really like to hear from those using the ID injectors, either way I am going to order a set soon and will post the results.

Thanks,

Anthony

I'm speaking from experience of playing around with injector staging plenty. There's very little information and testing for 2000cc secondaries and there's no point in reinventing the wheel for a tried-and-true GT35 setup.

Since most people are using the PFC with the factory saturated injector drivers and some resistor, what are they going to use for the 3 injector overlap settings, the pri/sec transition % and Sec transition msec settings? How about lag settings? On the various 1600/1680 cc injectors out there, there are bunch of well documented settings to try for these. Whereas with the 2000cc injectors, you're reinventing the wheel or shoehorning in some other settings and hoping the car runs right.

Unless the setup really would require 2000cc injectors, you are just creating a bunch of work for yourself trying to get the staging right in order to eliminate lean or rich spots. It's one thing to try them for a personal experiment, but it's another to give someone advice of "oh put 2000cc injectors in, they're like 1600's but better." Rarely is one part hands-down 100% better versus another, there are tradeoffs to everything. Bigger injectors have more lag for example, although it can depend on the injector design (bigger low impedence injector can be more responsive than small high impedence injector).

You could say "oh, x tuner is going to take care of the staging." Well x tuner is running a business and doesn't see 2000cc injectors every day so he has no incentive to spend time testing. It's just a pointless purchase for somebody who just wants to drive their car and not fiddle with the tune all time.

I am not, however I have been in a few cars with them, and there is zero transition problems with the ID injectors;

Here is one for example;
