(Seriously) I need a good cup holder!

LOL, I'm in the same boat. I saw a cupholder that clamps onto the window. Looked promising but didn't have any money to buy it at the time. Later once the car is done though I plan on making a custom hideaway cup holder based off the 2000 Altima design. Once its done I'll see about getting the blueprints/pics up.

On a serious note, you can get this cupholder from http://home.midsouth.rr.com/interstitial/intstial.htm -- or buy just the cupholder itself from Griot's garage, make your own bracket, and save $25.

If you're talking to me you better just stay here in the 3rd gen lounge with the other kiddies
If you "enjoy" your car so much, how is possible to drive and hold a drink between your legs? Do you have an auto?
More constructive posts every day

With thumb and index finger hold drink and the other 3 fingers hold the sterring wheel. With the right hand, shift. Unless you have baby hands, then I can understand where you are coming from.

If you drive with three fingers on the wheel you are hardly taking advantage of "one of the best cars to come out of Japan" you might as well be driving an Accord. I think they've been called that as well.

My point was to those that whine about how inconvenient your FD is then perhaps you should own a different car. This is one of the reasons why they sold so many in the first year and so few in following years. The wrong people bought them, thinking they were buying a fast luxury car that would make up for thier bad weave and overweight middle aged body. THey got a hard edged sports car, it's not meant to be convenient. Then they whined about it to anyone who would listen.
Look at what the 3rd gen forum has degraded too. An 18 post thread about cupholders.
I "play" in the single turbo forum.

^^^^ No wonder you two have 1,000 plus posts....
#1 I don't recommend keeping it between your legs for sure. I've spilt so much liquid on my in the past decade and diaper rash is not fun, especially on your way to work.
#2 The space between the seats and center console seem optimum until you've reupholstered your leather twice after a cup dumps over you or the passenger seat(cha-ching).
I've had an FD almost 10 years and I still can't find an optimum place that I don't wind up spilling all over. Plastic bottles are by far the best, cups are inevitable doom for me. If I drank coffee I'd have no nads by now
:eek
Still, a (regular) cup holder in the car does seem cheesy. It be nice to see if anyone has a pic of some more refined solution than a Walmart solution....

I think about the only thing you could do is make a custom centre console with the ashtray replaced by a moulded in "socket" for a cupholder. Not in the handiest spot, but at least it would look like it belonged.

For me if it's a bottle capped drink I put it on the passenger side seat.
If it's a soda cup then it either goes to the passenger or if there's no passenger then I'll put in in the small rear bins, stuffed with misc **** like teddy bears

Initially, I laughed at all the guys complaining about no cupholder. But then, I always had my wife or a rider to hold onto anything I may have had. Since I'm a lone rider now most of the time, I had a need for one for the stint between home and when serious driving begins, mainly to Laguna Seca or Sears Point for track events.
I bought the unit mentioned above by Rynberg. It's made by Marc Wiese, and I do recommend it. I find myself using it a lot. If not for coffee, for water. A very useful accessory that you can stash away when the driving gets serious.

I guess, I'll have to finally mount that PFC commander then to make room.... with the Apexi bracket on it, it fits nicely in the same spot. I can't seem to get an adhesive that can take a Florida summer with it mounted to the dash without drilling so I stick it where that cup holder Rynberg said would go.
