Scoot hood with SMIC?

hey,
I believe most people upgrade their IC so it does not seem like many people run into this problem..

But, if I have a SMIC it looks like the bottom air vent/duct on the hood might conflict..? Has anyone run a scoote hood with a SMIC perhaps a med/large SMIC successfully? I'm 99% sure with the pettit/m2/pfs duct it wouldn't fit.
Any testimonies?

Thank you in advance

I think your crazy, pretty sure the hood would fit, or it would be well documented here on the forum.....

How am I crazy? Even you state, you are "pretty" sure it would fit. So you are not positive either. I understand what you are saying but I don't think you understand me clearly...

I am wondering if it fits a SMIC like the Pettit/PFS/M2 intercoolers. They are still stock mount but many of them are larger and come with a duct. That is where my question arises. I know I have seen many scoot hoods on 7's before but i can't recall all of them having either a V-mount or Front mount. Which is where my question arises...

I have a seibon scoot style hood with an large SMIC. No clearance issues (check my photo album). Granted the seibon has less agressive openings than the other manufacturers. But all should fit as I haven't heard a thing about clearance issues.

FYI- those IC's are not taller, they are longer and thicker. When upgrading to a Pettit/PFS/M2 intercoolers the only clerance issue I've heard is regarding the duct and aftermarket radiators (Koyos or anything thicker than a fluidyne)

I understand the question completley. I have the pettit coolcharge III stock mount and know that it does not extend up past where it would make it hard for a hood to close. thats just ridiculous. go do a search and look at some pics.

The issues that were reported with the Scoot hood had to do with the intercooler piping for the M2 SMIC's. I don't know if that was changed when M2 closed and Kevin re-invented the ASP name for the intercoolers or not. Also, there were some issues with some strut tower bars and the hood. I know the stock R1 bar worked fine with the hood.

After looking at your pictures montego I think I found the difference. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The seibon and vis hoods do not have a center air duct on the underside of the hood?

The one I have seen, (my friends) I believe its a knock off, has a a duct that runs to the back cowl under the hood.

So it seems that the seibon/vis center is just and opening/vent to the engine bay while my friends is an opening duct to the rear cowl.

that is correct. The center vent on "most replicas" is for looks. I know that the original scoot actually ducted air to the brakes.

Not to the brakes, but just help lift air from the engine compartment at a much faster/efficient rate.
