Scoot hood fitment problem
Just bought a Scoot hood from Unified Distribution. It was a Sebon hood and I talked them making sure it would fit my 93 FD stock latch for the hood. I was told it will and everything would be fine. I know that you always have to do some adjustments to make things work even though they say it will. I my case the latch doesn't fit at all. The thing hits before it even locks down. I know people say it works but how? Do I need a latch for a 94 or something to make it work or do I just bust out the torch and cut it down till it works. Someone help me out here. Send me some pic's of what you did. I don't want to use hood pins, I like the clean look.

100% sure. You can see it hitting it. It left a mark on the hood when I tried to close it. I just took the latch out and if you take the safety catch off I think it would work just fine just want to know if anyone else did the same thing.

Are you sure it's seibon? A real seibon has a plaque identifying it.
I have a seibon scoot hood, and there was no "massaging" to get it to fit. No latch issues what so ever, in fact no issues at all.

Same here, got a genuine seibon and had no issues at all, excellent fitment.

Here is two pic's one is my Scoot hood and the other is the stock. Scoot does not have the cut out for the latch like the stock. Did I get screwed. Mine has the plate and it came in that huge box with seibon all over it. Also you can see a mark on the left of the Scoot hood where it hits the latch.

Just sent photos to Seibon they seem to think they messed up. Let me ask you guys this question. My hood did not use the stock nuts on the hinges, it had four little bolts with no washers or anything, did everyone else have the same thing? I am asking because I think they did screw up, and I got some jacked up one.

Mine is the same as yours only with a cut out. Just grab a dremel or grinder and cut a hole just like on the stock hood. Just dont cut all the way through the other side of the hood haha.

Yeah mine has a cut out I'll take a pic of it when I get home and post it up for you.
I got my hood like 5 years ago and honestly I do not remember sorry.

Mine has that spot cut out as well... I don't remember about how many bolts and/or washers the hood came with, but I do remember that it did not use the stock hardware to bolt up.

Well guys thanks for the info. Appreciate the fast feed back from all of you. It's now up to the manufacture to decide what they are going to do. I don't mind cutting the hole out myself but I would like to get a discount on some other parts since mine was jacked.

Matt I did move it down. I don't think you understand, there has to be a cut there like stock hood. Montego's hood is the same as mine but his has a cut out. Montego thanks for posting that. Looks like someone just forgot about that cut out on my hood.

Seriously? Just drill the 4 holes in the corners of the cutout, then connect the dots with a Dremel. Seriously about 5 minute job. It will take less time then calling them up to figure out a return/exchange. Then you have to box it up, ship it out and wait for another.
Looks like someone forgot to trim that hole for clearance. No big deal, the hood is not jacked or anything, just not fully trimmed.

Well got the call back and Seibon had just forgot to cut it out. They said I could cut it out myself and that is what I'm going to do. Just didn't want to screw with it in case they wanted it back. Thanks for the info guys and now I'm going to bust out my dremel and it's time to get to work.
