who here has experience with the safeguard (knock system retard system version 0) I install it according to the specs and it began to retard the ignition like it should, then i adjusted the system to be less sensive but the ignition stayed retarded!!! the waste gate kept blowing off and i never got boost. So i yanked the system out so it was back to "normal" and unhooked the car battery and the car still was acting the same way.... I need help thanks jamie

 

sounds like the leading plugs are not firing. Check it by hooking it back up and then with the car running pull the harness out the car should still run but now sound very loaded. if the engine note doesn't change then the leading plugs weren't firing to begin with. Check your wiring of the leading plugs wire. If you didn't wire it correctly when you removed it it would sound very retarded due to the tailing plugs being the only ones firing.

 

if the car is all loaded up due to the leading plugs not firing then will it be hard to start? I just went out there the start it and it idled for a few sec @1400 and died and now wont fire up. it might be due to the fact that it 20 degrees out side.
