Sad Day: Crash pictures

^^^As he said. Not totaled. The Gods, however, conspired against you to remove that rear wing.

i say let the guy do what he wants with it. if he wants to blow a 10k loan on the car so be it. it may not be the wise thing to do, but hey its gonna make him happy in the end. also i am glad that he was not hurt in this accident
it sucks that it happened tho, goodluck and hope to see this FD restored in the near future. be sure to share those pics!

LOL That spoiler was on the car when I bought it. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. It looked a lot better in person.
The reason why I want to fix the car is because first of all, love. Second of all I love having a CYM. I loved my 99 spec front. No sunroof, 35k on the engine, and lastly.. well my body shop said that they can fix it with no problem. And if I choose to fix it I can sand blast it or acid dip, get the dings out, and repaint the whole car inside and out.
And not gunna lie.. RHD is a huge plus too.
but thanks guys. I know some of you might think I'm a young kid with a lead foot, but I hope you can trust me when I say I'm not a noob.

God damn, this forum is just a bunch of haters now days. If everybody on this forum was really honest I would venture a guess that more than 3/4 of the members bought their FD on a loan.
Let the dude do what he wants to HIS car. With that said, Ill be another to say that the feed skirts would look good. But I personally like a wingless look. Anyways, glad your alright, the car is just property and can be replaced or fixed. Good luck with the build, take your time and enjoy throwing some money at her!!

^ Thanks!
I love the feed skirts. I'm gunna try to go wingless at first but I have a feeling I'll want either a CF trunk lip to match the CF RE-Amemiya street diffuser or a 99 spec painted body color. Not sure yet. CF front lip for sure though.

I have similar experience when I had my first FD with an auto trans and also RHD. But the difference is, I'm glad that the curb and tree hit my car and stop it. Otherwise, it'll be a sad story and maybe I'll not be here typing this anymore.
When I pass by that area, I'll slowly say "Thank you Mr. Tree".

RHD fd's sell all day up here for 5-9K CDN.
You can buy another running and driving car for much less then you'll spend fixing this one.
Anything is fixable. But spending more then the car's worth doing it is what people call "wrecked". Ie. that car is wrecked.
And you dealt with that body shop for 10 years? And you're 22? So they fixed up your bimmer for you back in middle school???

IbanezFreak87,
You said you don't want to file a claim because you don't want your premiums to go up. Im not quite understanding your logic here. You pay for full coverage insurance and yet you don't want to file a claim? Then what's the point of paying for it? The only time your premiums don't go up is when the other party is at fault and in those instances their insurance pays... That is unless they are uninsured which then your uninsured motorist coverage kicks in... So in essence you pay full coverage but are only willing to use it if the other driver was unisured.
You need to do the math of taking a 10K loan vs filing an insurance claim. I think you'll find that one is way more expensive than the other. BTW if you take a 10K loan and run it for the full term you'll find that it would end up costing you way more than 10K. The interest paid would be right up there with the higher insurance premiums that you would had payed if you had filed a claim.
You can choose to file a claim and when the insurance company declares it a total loss, you can opt to buy it back and use the money the insurance company gave you to fix it. Or use the money TOWARDS fixing it.
Another option is to buy it back and part it out. You'll make out like a bandit. Not only will you have cash that the isurance company gave you, you'll make way more than what you bought back the car for.
Just options IMO. Now if you don't have full coverage but just don't want to say it I completely understand as this forum is ruthless. But you also gotta do the math of parting the car out and buying another vs taking a loan + interest and fixing what you already have.
Edit
BTW I'm very sorry this happened. It sucks to lose one's pride and joy as I had that happen to me (1993 FD with 30K miles lost to an engine fire) so I understand the denial stage. But you gotta think of the long haul and whats best for your wallet.

Montego:
I do have full coverage but i also got a ticket for failure to control my vehicle.
Thing is that the car is in my dad's name cuz of insurance costs. I pay my dad every year for what I owe him for insurance. Needless to say my dad doesn't like cars nor understands the NEED I have for an FD. lol
Anyway I wanna fix the car without any help from my parents. The 10k loan will fix my car and also pay for a single turbo setup. I can afford the loan and at 8% interest I figure I can pay off the loan in a year and a half.
That being said I don't mind paying 11k over a year or two to be able to fix the car this summer.

It looks like in the pictures, the small gravel on the side of the road is what some DOT's put down (gravel/salt mixture) when it might ice or snow and it gets pushed to the side after awhile. Is that what it is and if so, I can see even at 45 mph if a tire gets out on it, the loss of control in a curve. Sucks about the wreck and hopefully whatever you decide, you feel comfortable with it.

I hit the telephone pole at 5-10mph. The trunk is damaged but my body shop said it wouldn't be a problem to fix it. There won't be any bondo. Rear fenders will be cut and welded and trunk will be pulled. I've done work with this body shop for over ten years. I trust them. They're never fucked anything up before.
If my body shop told me to get another roller, I would but it will be hard to find a rhd cym roller. Not to mention right now I like having matching numbers.. not like it'll matter after the repair anyway.

This forum sucks sometimes... why is it that you have to **** on the guy with lounge material photochops after he wrecks his FD? ******* immature.
That was a beautiful car. Hope it works out.
