RX-8 Driveshaft

The other day a guy was telling me that you could fit a rx-8's carbon fiber drive shaft in an FD rx7. He honestly didn't know too much about it when i inquired further so i was wondering if anyone knows if the dimensions of the drive shaft are the same or have done the shaft swap. I know that the 8 is a bit longer but the engine is further back in the engine bay so...The tranny is also a bit shorter than ours but i don't have the dimensions of everything to equate it all.

Thanks

I will get my friend to size it up next to a FD one for comparison. I do know that the diffs are interchangable.

Sorry for the delay but I managed to go up north this weekend to get the new front cut for my car and I checked out the driveshafts for you.
Unfortunatley due to the RX8 driveshaft being about a foot longer it will be impossible to fit it to an fd in my opinion seing as its wound carbon fiber.

You can buy a carbon fiber drive shaft for the FD.

Do you really need a carbon fiber driveshaft?

a carbon drive shaft isn't something i need no ,but i did think it was interesting and also thought that it would be a nice upgrade. I was really just seeing if what i had heard was true. A little extra knowledge can never hurt so...

Thanks for checking that out, shame that it **** on the idea of the swap.
