At what point in time was the 13b on the top ten best engines?

At no point in time did I ever say the RX7 was not a great car...after all, I do own onel. And that would be 13BREW, not 13BTT.

Thats such a stupid comment. Thats like saying the engine in an old buick sedan like a skylark is the same as an engine in a buick Grand National without turbos since its a 3.8 V6.

You might want to learn a little more about Nissan's products...VQ series started in 95/96. The motor changed from VG to VQ in the Maxima AND the 300ZX.

So what do you think?...Nissan had two completely different engines for the Maxima and 300ZX? Sorry to inform you, but they didn't...they are BASED on the same powerplant.

No matter who or what I'm brand loyal to, I can recognize and acknowledge a nice car when I see one...hence me knowing the 300ZX is a great car...

How many more fences are you going to try and put up? How many names are you going to type through the computer to someone you've never even met?

I own a 300ZX and personaly I LOVE IT. I'm not gonna say its not without its problems but it is a good car. I've put it though alot of crap and it just keeps on going. But doesn't it say something if I'm trying to sell my Z for a 7?

First off the VQ was NEVER used in the 300ZX. 90-96 300zx were all had the VG. So it looks like YOU might want to learn more about Nissans products. If the Maxima was so much like the 300ZX engine why did it take 6 years of use in some family sedan before it got any press. And even then if got press PUSHING A FAMILY SEDAN AROUND. Not exactly what I want my sports car to have under the hood.

How ridiculous. Sounds like you are more concerned with how people perceive your car than you are about how it actually performs. If Chrysler decided to put the Viper motor in one of its mini-vans, you would disreguard the Viper as a world-class super-car?

Well, in the C&D article the RX7 loses to the ZX due to the ride rating. So if you are concerned about this go with the ZX. Even though I have an FD, I can appreciate the Z and even hang out with their club on occasion. The Z is probably more reliable.

BTW the FD was designed as a 4 seater. That's how most J-spec are equipped.

I guess the Viper is crap since they use the V10 in the 2500 and 3500 Dodge pickups.

I'd say go with which ever you like. The Z is probably cheaper to maintain. The RX is more like a race car and the looks still turn heads.

First off never said the 300ZX was crap. Never said I didnt like it. All I'm saying is that the platform of the Z is not even close to that of the Supra or RX7 in terms of pure performance. And yes if you take the Viper engine knock 250 HP off of it and stick it in a mini van Id call it crap. Im saying that the engine got press as a great engine for a family sedan and not for a performance based engine. And the viper's power plant is a piece of **** I'd call it crap before you ever stuck it in a mini van. Just ask any of the real viper shops and they will tell you its a piece of crap as far as technology and engineering. Its about as inefficient as you can make an engine. I think you guys have got me all wrong in this whole deal. I like both cars. I think the Z has some big advantages over the RX7, reliability being a big one. I am talking on a purely performance based scale on what the chassis and the engine in the car can accomplish. Im not saying the 300zx is a shitty sports car. Im saying when you start pushing them, the power plant and chassis of the RX7 is going to come out on top. Its been proven that the Supra and RX7 engines dominate Import racing scene. And Im not saying the 300ZX cant make good numbers. Ive seen a few. The escort Z from Japan is making awsome numbers. Im saying in general people are not using the 300ZX as a platform to race from.
