It depends what year you purchase it. If you are lucky enough to buy a 99 spec RX-7, then it may have 280hp

About 20-30hp

First you should REALLY make sure the turbo system is perfectly working on it and all other mechanical parts.
Then you could go to buy a downpipe, then an aftermarket computer (like a Power FC), then a midpipe, then an intercooler. These are MAJOR upgrade parts. There are a ton of little upgrades you can do inbetweem

You can run up to about 400hp on the stock turbos. There ARE people running mid 11s STILL running the stock turbos. Keep in mind, the stock turbos will give you GREAT low end response with little turbo lag. The larger singles will have more lag

It just REALLY REALLY depends on what you do. With just a few bolt on mods, you should be able to be easily in the 12s.

12,s?

what few little bolt ons do you need to be in the twelve's? i have a '94 and am looking for 12 sec. times to hunt down a supra that comes out every now and then. please help me obi-wan. oh yeah, first help me out w/a vacuum leak b/t the upper intake area and the turbo-to-intercooler pipe. i upgraded (what i thought) to be all the hoses (even the ones under the rail) and felt the second come on but after i installed my boost gauge, found out that it is a 10-5-6 pattern. all i know is that i can spray a little carb cleaner in the vicinity mentioned and the car will stumble (and catch on fire slightly ). anyway, going to replace the plugs/wires this coming weekend and will take the upper off and see what's up. just tell me where to look while that stuff is out of the way ( and then tell me what's up w/ the 12's). oh yeah, btw, which would you recommend for exhaust and ecu upgrades pettit or m2? any one can answer this one for piece of mind on upgrades. thanks

Just for info

There are only three kinds of RX7 still being
made. RB RS RZ. There is no such thing as
a 99 Spec OK?!?!!?!? That just what people
that dont know call it. That new body style
with new taillights in 96, and the one with
new front bummer and with adjustable wing
started in 97. The RZ first came out in 98
and the only diff is no back seat and comes
with the recaro seats.

RB=255
RS=265
RZ=280
Thanks from home of the
RX7
