rotor housing resurfacing question

Hi I was wondering how long will resurfaced rotor housings last compared to brand new 13b housings from mazda.
Thanks

As far as I know there's no hard data. You'd have to have someone setup a lab environment, run 2 engines on a test stand, measure for wear....it's just not going to happen.

Nothing beats new parts, but GOOD LORD new rotor housings are CRAZY expensive now.

Regardless, any engine will probably not last until the rotor housings are "worn out". You will more likely break an apex seal or have a water seal fail first.

I'm not exactly fluent in this matter , But I can tell you what I've been told . and if I'm incorrect someone should fix that please .

I was told it depends on the apex seals , the harder apex seals , like OEM , and some of those RA super seals?? are hard on the housings themselves and will wear them out . (this is why alot of premix is reccomended for them )

And the softer Metal Apex seals Like goopy , ALS . the apex seals themselves wear down vs the housing ..

I as well am very interested in goopys housings. I'm waiting to see if they can stand up to the hype. I have bought new housings but want to try theirs. Not sure if I'm ready fir a gamble yet though. I'm not worried about the housing but my precious rotors lol

I will not try another apex seal aside from the good old rew motors. Changing what wear part wears faster does not interest me. Specialy when you pay more for nothing more lol

a bit off topic , but the difference with a softer seal vs harder seal is if detonation does happen the softer seals bend , and do not destroy the housings , vs the harder seals , crack and we all know what happens then haha , bye bye housing .

I can tell you from experience that surface finish is what truly matters, next is premix, and followed by apex seal material. There's many ways to resurface rotor housings and I've seen many different techniques. I can't say who's best but the answer is out there.
