ON rotor housing good or bad?

Hey guys, I have my engine pulled apart and I planned on porting it (med-large port) and a TO4Z single turbo conversion. I was doing the inspections on the housings and noticed that my rear housing is missing some of the chromium plating on the bottom edge, no more than 1mm inward at any point. its not all the way around the housing (approx (15 - 20%) but im not sure how much this will effect the performance of the engine. If I reuse this housing what are the consequences? I thought compression at first but I had great compression before i pulled it apart. I know mazda says 3mm in is ok and turborx7.com says its ok if no more than 2mm is exposed. If anybody has any information that will help me out i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys,

Alex

Probably need some pics up.

Generally, the less chrome flaking the better. But, you can build a solid engine that makes good compression with that housing. A lower mile or new rotor housing will obviously make better compression.

But, if it's worth it to use the housing you have instead of shelling out for another one...

It's all up to your budget and where you're going with the car. New housings will of course be the best, if you want to drop a grand on them.

if you want a good break in and long life, I would get a housing without chrome flake.
