I used to have an 8 pt. roll cage in my civic hatch and now i have a 4 pt in my FD. Let me tell you... its a night and day differnce. Not only is the chassis THAT much stiffer, but safety is also increased ( if you happen to flip). Sure you add about 20 lbs to your car, but its totally worth it. and another tip, welding the cage/bar to your car also make a big difference in rigidity. i would opt for the 6 pt

BUT...

it also depends on the application of your car. having a 6 pt cage in an FD wont be the most comfortable thing in the world. and welding it in might not be a good idea if you plan on selling the car later in life. Its all up to you.

hey DeNguyen, can you post pictures of your cage? What kind do you have? Do you have a sunroof, or is your car an R1? I know a lot of cages don't fit on FD's with sunroofs so i'm looking for one that does since mine is a PEP

The M2 Rollbar works on FD's with sunroofs. There is a guy here on the forum, who is local to me, who has one in his Touring.

roll cages are nice. I really like the M2 one. If I had the money I would go for one. But Other stuff is needed first.

M2 roll bar

I just ordered the M2 from them
Brain has informed me it's already at the powdercoating place.

I should be picking it up next week.

The kirk racing and autopower ones are much cheaper.
I ordered the M2 as I could actually see one mounted in a car. Thanks to the local Bay Area FD guys.
M2 is more expensive but it give the most interior room from what I can see. + it fits cars with sunroofs.

From the point where I ordered, it took less than 2 weeks. M2 informed me when the roll ball was delivered to them and informed me when it was sent to the powdercoating place.

What can I say.... Cant wait...

The APs, Roll bar and recaros SPG all go in at the same time...yummy

kirk racing

"We have one style that allow you to keep your storage bins and another for those who are taller and need more space where the bar mounts in the bin area. Both styles include the main hoop with a diagonal and horizontal brace and two rear braces. These can be made of either a 1.75" x .120 DOM material for $315 or 2" x .180 for $335 plus shipping"

Cossie, can you (and I'm sure you will anyways hehe) post pics of the M2 kit unassembled, and then with it installed?

Thanks!

Yes, yes, please post pix of the M2 cage.

However, i was under the impression that the M2 cage is not SCCA approved cuz of the strut tower mounting.

SCCA

Yes, I think it's not approved..

I am not going for such racing.

My purpose for my roll bar from M2 is to provide a proper harness mounting and my own 'safety' for track events that my car is primary used for.
