The rex almost caught fire :(
...sorta.
I was leaving to meet my family for dinner driving down a backroad, just cruising and listening to the radio.. Well about a mile down the road the center speaker starts crackling, then smoke start pouring out from under the back portion of the console. I quickly shut the car off and roll off the side of the road, freaking out worried I just lost my ride.
I sat for a few minutes, then started the car again, cutting off the radio so I could hear any potential problems. The smoke never returned and I came to the conclusion it is my sound system causing it, is there a known issue of any kind I should be concerned with? I removed my seats the day before and shampoo'd the carpets, letting it dry before reinstalling the seats... could this of been related to the issue?
I havent had time to check out the problem, all my tools are packed away and I've been busy with work. I'm just trying to get a clue as to possible causes.

I'm not sure what the cause could be, I did various searches on the 'Bose system' but came up with nothing...
I guess I'll just have to pull my seats again and get at the console... how easily does it come out?

Call me gramps!
If it is the Bose speaker, you can just remove the speaker grill to check if it is the speaker that fried.

Update,
It was the center amp underneath the console... ohwell. So I ripped that bitch out along with it's useless sibling speaker.
I'm replacing it with a center-mount 3-pod gauge cluster.
