Resonated Mid-Pipe Battle Off !

Alright I am in the market for a resonated midpipe as I am running a single with downpipe to mid-pipe to a Apexi N1 AND ITS LOUD at WOT. So some friends are telling me that the best way to silence it up without going greddy sp is to buy a resonated mid-pipe but I have been hearing many different things about each companys resonated mid-pipes the runners up are :
1) Rx-7 Store Resonated Mid-Pipe
2) Petit Resonated Mid-Pipe
3) Borla XR-1 Setup (Something I dont understand but say you can get it welded to act as a mid pipe)

Anyways I am not sure what are the db ratings on each but I am trying to get the quietest that is possible. From what I heard the rx-7store uses a Magnaflow design muffler to sience it but I am not sure how it compares to any of the other mid-pipes I also heard good things about the borla setup and the petit but the borla setup involves welding the downpipe to the borla which I am not a big fan of unless I can get flanges welded in place ? Can I ? Well help is surely appreciated and I cant be alone in wanting to know this so hopefully this will benifit others.
Also if anyone has soundclips that would be so awesome. Thanks guys and gals.

I don't have any sound clips but my car is pretty quiet compared to others. I have a dp, rx7store resontated mid pipe, and the n1 single exhaust. It does get a little louder under throttle but it isn't too bad for normal driving.

Heard all three on the same car with the same PFS DP/CB.
1) Pettit noisey!
2) Borla quiet and deep but starts getting loud under boost, good set up.
3) RX-7 store sounded the deepest and best, I would get this one.

Edelbrock Tru Flo is the best sounding IMHO.

What's nice about it is that it's flatter than Borla and RX-7 store.

It fits flush with the bottom so there is no scraping on speed bumps.

I have some sound files with and without if someone would like to host it.

the rx7store one is just a magnaflow welded into a midpipe. I have something similar and it is pretty quiet, but barks under WOT. Made good power with it on too. I recommend it.

I have a pettit DP, RX-7 store resonated MP and a SSAutochrome eBay special CB. It is fairly loud but not too obnoxious. Rich is right you can make good power with them. I put down 325 to the wheels with that exhaust setup.

i use gotham racing's resonated midpipe...It is also a flowmaster I believe. Kan can clarify.

all i can say is removing the midpipe and n1 dual combo...and replacing it with the greddy titanium and the resonated midpipe is like heaven. I can hear my stereo again...and it still sounds tough as nails.

I had a Pettit resonated Midpipe. It droned like crazy on the interstate. It also was VERY loud under WOT. I have a DP and a PFS cat back. I am going to try one of those metallic cat's welded in place of a stock cat next. I am not looking for absolute performance but decent performance without all the noise.

I have the exact-same set-up, and LOVE it. I don't know that it drones so much as the car just isn't super-quiet... you'll notice it on a long trip.... but it actually sounds almost exactly the same during normal driving and on the highway as when i had a hiflow cat. WOT really barks.

The Pettit res mp is more of a 'glass-pack' style, while the rx7store/gotham one is a muffler style.

Jason, pretty sure that's a magnaflow you've got in there. That sucker was supposed to go on my car, long story

Yup... the pettit is just a bullet-shaped hump.

Yeah the real problem is the A'PEXi exhaust. If you switched to a Racing Beat or something it wouldn't be nearly as loud. As nice as the Apex exhaust are, people really hate the sound and how loud they are.

I am running the Racing beat cat back with the RX7 store Resonated midpipe, and it is a very nice combo. I did some sound testing and posted on the 3rd gen forum, but you will have to search for it.

I went from 110Db at idle with a fart can type exhaust, and a midpipe. Down to 94-96Db with the Racing Beat exhaust, and down to 74DB with the RX7 store midpipe. Quiet enough to keep the cops off my *** for sure. Added benefits are, I can hear my stereo, don't have a headache from driving the car, and when I do go WOT, the sound is music to my ears.

I've got a Pettit resonated pipe, and it does NOT drone.

I acquired the resonated pipe after getting sick of the obnoxiousness of the straight open midpipe. The Pettit unit quieted things down in the first half of the rpm range by about 20% (by the seat of my eardrums) and still screams when you get into it almost as if it wasn't there.

Best of both worlds, to my mind.

Get the Rx7store RMP(-$269) and sell your straight pipe(+$90).
I have it with a DP and an Old School HKS Cat back. It's nice and deep cruising around town. Not loud and obnoxious at all....

I definitly think the rx7store.net one is the one to go with but I cant seem to compare it with the gotham cuz I cant find the gotham resonated mid pipe.

not quiet

I have the apexi dp, ss chrome midpipe, and the apexi catback and its loud. I bought a silencer for the Apexi, it doesn't fit. It is an apexi silencer, and an apexi exhaust, just doesn't fit. I cramed it into the exhaust one night and it sounded pretty quiet. just can't get it in the exhaust properly. Who knows.

With a downpipe, I'm using an SR resonated midpipe with a Racing beat single
tip. It's really quite at idle and there's no drone at higher speeds. I'm very
satisfied with the sound.
