Replacing accelerator cable and the work shop manual is very vague

Im replacing the accelerator cable and the work shop manual is very vague. Ive looked at it but my engine swap makes everything a super tight fit and its hard to see exactly how it attaches in the firewall. How easy is it to replace and what do i need to replace it?

If you don't have it figured out tomorrow I'll be working on my car a bit and I'll try and remember to snap a few pictures for ya.

you're using the factory throttle cable on your v8?

you have to get into the driver's side in by the clutch, brake, gas pedal. You really have to stick your head down in there.....first thing is to disconnect the cable from the pedal, look for the yellow plastic tubular clip. Re: where the cable meets the firewall, it's a black square plastic clip with two prongs on the top and two on the bottom, four total. It helps to have someone up top wiggling and pulling while you try to release it.

Yes im running the stock cable with my lsx swap. The cable bracket had to be custom made to make it work but the cable end matches up perfectly with the gm throttle body. Since the cable is starting to show some signs of wear i figured i would replace it just to be safe and since it is already set up to use the stock cable i figured i would just replace it with another mazda oe cable.
