Removing the 10mm brake line fittings
I've ordered some ss brake lines as well as a few other brake related parts and i'm just in the process of getting everything ready. But these 10mm fittings are giving me a time. I have the proper box wrench (homemade) but it is still just starting to strip. I'm hitting them all with pb blaster 2 times a day until the weekend but i'm wondering if there is anything else I can do to ease this process a little? This is my first time doing this so there might be some tricks i'm not aware of. Thx guys.
Edit: also, is there a preference between impact and just normal pressure to removing these? (Impact being a slight hit with a hammer on the wrench?)

Three words.....flare nut wrench. You can't expect to take off a fitting like that any other way and get clean results. You won't round the head off the bolt with it. Promise.
If you've already rounded it off then you'll have to use vise grips like championadrien said.

Hopefully it's not already too late for the flare nut wrench. In some places you may need two wrenchs of the same size. Not sure, but the chain auto parts stores may have loaners if you don't want to buy two sets. Another option is Harbor Frieght.

So a homemade flare nut wrench (like I was using) won't do? I just took a regular box end and cut out a slot to fit it over the hardline.
I'll keep hitting it with the pb blaster for a bit then give it another go this weekend with an actual flare nut wrench.

No, a homemaid ghetto rigged flare nut wrench will not do the job. A boxed end wrench has 12 points and your cutting out some of those points making it even less surface area for grabbing the nut(no pun intended).
A flare nut wrench is specially designed to have a larger surface area of contact with it's 6 points. Allowing a part of it to be removed and still not affecting it's ability to hold the nut.(again, no pun intended)
