I have some more stuff to ask real quick if you guys dont mind answering. I am probably going to go ahead and get a rx-7. I wanted to know if running a single turbo at around 10 psi would be easier on the engine compared to stock? Also, if I bought a boost controller for the stock rx-7, could i turn down the boost for daily driving with the stock setup?

That is what I do to mine with the stock twins. I have a right up on how I set my settings on my Apexi AVC-R . One setting for 10-9.5-10 PSI and one for 6-5-6 Boost pattern for economy driving. https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/guidance-help-tune-my-avc-r-please-526350/ this is my write up on how to set the AVC-R for the Economy and Stock settings with some tweaks to make the transition alittle more easier instead of a bomb rush. I hope this helps.:) |

Plus, the lack of a sequential system and emissions means the engine bay has much fewer components. The engine doesn't care about that, but you as the person fixing or paying the bills should care. Lowering the boost is as simple as installing a boost gauge and keeping a lighter foot. IMO, the dual boost setup is more useful for folks who run higher boost on non-street fuel. Dave |
