people jump to it cause it makes alot more power then any other bolt-on mod!
But i agree that a mp should only be installed when you have an ecu.

Yes, but most of the other bolt-ons don't have significant reasons to NOT do them. I think people only see the power gains (all high-end, btw, loss of low end torque) and don't stop to consider the many negatives of a midpipe. I think it's telling when experienced people with well-modded cars have gone back to hi-flow cats (or never went to midpipe) - kwikrx7, goodfellas, a few others.

hehe... back again... i'm with adamrx7. i want to keep the stock cb. don't try to talk me out of it. lol. i want to go with dp, mp andpossibly an intake of some sort. will i have problems with keeping boost down? the way i see it the cb should help with restricting exhaust flow so i don't over boost. everytime i search and click on posts... everyone talks about mods which already include the cb mod. i don't want one.

You shouldn't have problems controlling boost if you keep the stock cat back. I know what you mean, the stock catback is very quiet. I have a friend who has dp+mp and stock catback, and he loves it.

I understand exactly what you mean. I put a midpipe on a few days ago, and I'm ready to switch back to the stock cat. Right now I have a dp, mp, and stock cb. Its loud, tinny sounding (sounds like crap in my opinion), smells horrible, makes me smell, and makes my boost creep to dangerous levels. The increased power and response is great, though. And I can hear my turbos spooling a lot better.

I could only smell my car when stopped. It is really a weekend car only and when i do drive it, it is usually on nice suburban roads that dont have many traffic lights. I dont experience any spike or creep. For me, the mp is the best mod i have ever done! I do have an m2 med IC sitting in my living room so that may change.

OK thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going to still get one, but wait a couple more months.
