Rebuilt Engine sites
Hey guys, I've been in the market for a new engine for a while and was wondering what the general feeling was about sites that sell freshly rebuilt 13Bs. Also is there one that has proven to be more reliable than others?
Thanks in advance.

I offer engines without requiring a core, www.rotaryrebuildstore.com. If you are in a rush though I am not the guy at the moment. Probalby looking at a 5-7 week wait for one of my engines at the moment as several people are in front of you.
Just search the classifieds for my username, I offer prebuilt short blocks with ALS seals, street port and a whole bunch of other stuff replaced for $2900.00 shipped.

I do have a core, however the quotes I recieved from local shops for rebuilds all surpassed $3500 and that's assuming I don't need new rotors/housings on a motor that has 95k on it. I figured if I can get everything rebuilt and shipped for under $3000, I'd still have a motor to play with if I ever wanted to build a race engine.

Sounds about right. Its only cheap if you re-use parts. With 95k on it, you probably could use fresh housings. You won't know until you get it opened. There's also a lot of expensive small parts like gaskets, studs, crush washers that add up very quickly. I imagine its hard for any shop to warranty a motor built with used parts.
Also, with 95k miles and 15 years of use, you may need a new wiring harness, definitely need coolant hoses and other odds and ends.
When at all possible, I prefer to stay local. Easier to diagnose problems and take advantage of a warranty. My vote is for IRP also since you are in NJ.

Just let me know if you need my assistance, like I said, I would expect about a 6 week wait if you want one of my prebuilt blocks.

Nearly all engine builders require a core, DJseven being one of the few exceptions, since he & Kevin we supply the used parts for the engine. I do not know which online sites you are referring to in your original post. If you are looking for feedback on a specific company you will need to identify them.
