Rebar question (FMIC install)....

How many of you guys don't run rebar at all? I really don't feel like cutting that thing. I mean when it's cut it lost all the support that it had anyway... why put it at all???

So my question is just how many of you run without rebar?
What would the problem be if you don't put it back on?

Thanks

I haven't had mine on for a year or so, the main downfall (aside from accidents) is the bumper "sag" that will occur over time.

im wondering too...mines hacked already from the 99 front and im about to buy a fmic...i still should be better than having no rebar. i would really just leave it.
even something that seems so little can make a difference in an accident.

im wondering, ive seen on other cars, where theres some sort of a brace that i think comes with the kits that bolts to thr rebar to give some strength back into it...

If it didn't sag in a year... how long will it take until it does sag? I mean i'm not gonna have stock front bumper for more then a year probably... so if that is the only worry... then we have no problems.

Thanks guys.

Well if you REALLY look you can tell the difference between bumpers with and without the re-bar. Its not incredibily obvious, but if you pay attention to details it will end up bugging you over time.

If your going with a FMIC, I'd suggest the Blitz because it requires the least amount of alteration and doesn't require removing/cutting the factory re-bar. I currently have the old XS/RX-7 fashion FMIC and I'm looking to switch to the Blitz.
