RE-Amemiya N3A7 ECU?

I have a RE-Amemiya ECU for a FD. I don't really know much about it but if someone could enlighten me on what this ECU has had done to it I would appreciate it. What all would this do to my engine if it was installed?

RE-A maps those (at least used to) to just about anything.

I've only found information to a certain "Type" one but I can't find anything on this one to say it is. Thanks for your input though. Anyone else?

Well there are 3 types basically
A(intake/exhaust)
B(above, plus modified twins, down pipe,)
C(vehicle specific custom jobs..particularly single TURBOS)

maybe u can chk their website and compare the motherboard setups? ( just a thought)

So how do you tell which type it is? Is it the last letter of the model #?

I would try to get in contact with "inukai":

I believe he works there and might be able to help you. He's not on the forum much, but its worth a shot. I would also post in the Far East section to see about getting assistance there as well.

Might want to open the ECU up and see if there's anything written on the ROM chip in the ECU.

But, really, I wouldn't run a mystery ECU on my car. MANY shops in Japan do custom ROM tuning - drive your car in, they open up your stock ECU, make some dyno pulls, burn a new ROM, and pop it in the ECU. The ROMs can literally be set up for any of a zillion combinations of mods.

There are some standard JDM ECU's that are a mail-order type deal.

But, if you really want a chipped ECU, I'd just get a used US chipped ECU like a Pettit or something if you don't want to spend the money now for a PowerFC. Or just save, do it right, and get a PowerFC .

Dunno if you're getting the ECU free or cheap or something, but that's never a good determining factor for running something on your car, especially something that critical to the engine's health. Is it worth saving some money over a known quantity ECU when the end result could be needing a motor?
