RE-Amemiya ECU

I was wondering if anyone has any information or experience with the RE-Amemiya ecu's. I found a used one on rhdjapan.com for $400 CAD shipped but I haven't heard of anyone using them, or any information on them. Here is a link to the ecu and for those who aren't memebers, here is the decription for the ECU. I have posted this in the Management forum but no one has replied to it after 5 days or so.

https://www.rhdjapan.com/home/produ...product_id=2401

The TYPE-A ROM tune from Amemiya is for fully stock to lightly/mildly modified RX-7`s. If you are aiming for 285hp~310hp with your Rotary Rocket, this ECU can handle it. 285hp is reported with the stock intercooler and 310hp is reported with a 3-ROW front mount intercooler and down pipe. (These specs are with the catalitic converter)

The boost levels on this unit are set at .6~.7 at low .8~.9 at high under 4500rpm and .6~.7 at low .75~.85 at high at over 4500rpm. The boost limiter at above 5500rpm is set at .9 bar and the rev limiter has been raised to 8200rpm. In addition the secondary turbo

It's tuned for Japanese gas which is higher octane. Just pick up a used Pettit for $400.

I had one for over a year and it ran pig rich at low for some reason but ran fine at high. I don't believe that octane would be a big problem since it ran pretty rich at all levels.

I know of a lot of people who used the KS and RE one on 91 octane without any fuel-related issues.

yeah, it does run pretty rich down low.
My car, here in Japan, has an REA redom ECU in it. Basically it's just like any other ROM tuned ECU available here in Japan

for the guys that have had one of the type A ecu's. If you look at the type a that is currently listed on RHDJAPAN, you'll see that it has a switch in the center console that connects to the ecu. I have this switch in my car now, but I have no clue of what it does. Honestly, I'm scared to push it. Dont want to screw anything up. Any clues??

I have one and never had the guts to use it. I guess the wire, which I have no earthly idea what it does, kinda stopped me too. Got it years ago from a guy in Japan.

I'm pretty sure it just changes the boost levels.

"The boost levels on this unit are set at .6~.7 at low .8~.9 at high under 4500rpm and .6~.7 at low .75~.85 at high at over 4500rpm. The boost limiter at above 5500rpm is set at .9 bar and the rev limiter has been raised to 8200rpm"

It sure would be nice if I could some how figure out how to use that ECU. It works fine but I have no idea what mods it is for and have no way of contacting them and ask for help. Does anyone know how I could get the information on the ECU?
