rad drain plug anyone? sr rad and other aftermarkets same as stock?

i found my retarded coolant leak. laying under the car coolant is coming *through* the crappy plastic screw of a drain plug my sr 'ultimate rad' has. no plug i found fit, the screw is M10 x 1.25. couldn't even get a bolt at HDR that would work. i just ordered a stock replacement to try that and was wondering if anyone knew if it would work. has this ever happened to anyone? i'm just layin there looking at the thing and i can see coolant collecting *inside* the phillips head fitting in the screw. bone dry out side of it.

It is not likely that the OEM plug will work with an aftermarket radiator.

Hell, call SR up and ask them! I bet you it's a standard (ie, not metric) drain plug, or an AN plug or something.

ew...metal expansion properties, brother?!?! I sucked *** at paying attention in my materials class in college, but my dumbass recommendation is to go get the $2 part with rubber seal. Hate to see a bolt cost you a set of water jackets and the time to replace them...at the least it'll save you a $400 radiator.

those radiator drain plugs are cheap garbage. buy 2 at least so u can keep a spare one in the garage in case it breaks again. best thing to do is not to over torque them, since this causes most to break.

I heard that the SR radiator is actually a koyo and that ray sticks an indiglo sticker on the koyo emblem and bumps the price a couple of hundred bucks...do me a favor and peel off the sticker. I'd like to see if this is true.
