why the switch? this turbo has been out for so long but nobody is dyno testing it or revealing the spool characteristics

Wow, the turbine side of the R85 is huge! It's definitely not going to run out of steam at high RPM's like the RX-6 does Beautiful manifold and downpipe, too.

yea I do that a lot I post and then switch to a more polite version of what I said haha

I'm a fan of anything exceptional. Seems like everyone is trying to hide or delay info on the kit. I'm thrilled with my car you guys can do whatever you want : )
Of course it wasnt an accident. Getting advised by Bryan from BNR whos an expert in both turbos and rotary engines I was able to make the perfect setup.

Wow... that turbo is really close to the frame... like a few millimeters... or is it just the angle of the picture? Aren't you worried that the slighted engine movement will smack it into the frame and crack it?

R85 is a TEC HT300 turbo with a 1.15 AR and a 62mm comp wheel. Atleast that is what I was told when I called the guys at TEC turbos.

yes, ..and yes :-)

but i dont have the bolts tight, so teh weight of the turbo is leanign it to the side more than it will be, HOWEVER, that dosnt mean i wont have clearance issues once engine movement is introduced,... ill know when i get everything back together on it.

There are honestly not many out there to speak of. Here are two links with some results.

ok so we have 359 at 12psi
and another 360rwhp with the boost creeping to 14psi

my car made 382@12psi without the cutout open that I have installed and a fuel pressure issue and I know it spools much earlier

this hype happens every time a turbo kit comes out ahem gt35/40, gt40
the spool and power potential are always exagerated.

obviously i can not comment on the performace of my r85 kit yet, and will not be able to till after winter when the car is running and gets tuned.

However, I can say that both Keith and Dee have been very helpful will all my questions and requests about the r85 kit, and I didnt even buy it from them directly, I got it from another forum member.

Lets not forget my goals either,.... its a track car so spool up is not as big of an issue as im not below 3.5K to 4K rpm on the track.... and what I wanted was about the same power that the apexi makes at 15 psi but at 12 psi... and that should not be to hard to do with this turbo on a safe tune.

...and for those you you wondering why the boost levels I want to run seem so low, its because of heat.... in general, less psi = less heat...and heat is the real killer...heat is the real trouble maker...

if you read the thread or know the situation in it's entirety, this was prior to any real tuning. These were base runs and the car was kicked off the dyno. Tuning was done on the street. Those numbers were not "final" numbers and were done on 91 oct. take it as you will...
