R1 model

My friend is looking into an FD. He has got around 30k to spend. But his demand will be hard to find. He wants silver w/ black leather and stock under 40,000 miles. Oh and he wants it to be an R1. I was just making sure that the R1 was also a 5 speed tranny. Thanks

The R1 does not have leather so he will have to choose one or the other. If he really has to have leather then he will need to get a touring model.

Also: You can only get the R1 in a 5 speed.

With that much money, he should be able to find a silver R1 or R2, and then spend a little more and get black leather seats for it.

There's no reason to buy a used R1.
It doesn't have a spoiler or cruise control, yes you can save some weight but for a daily driver those two are necessary luxuries.
Besides you're gonna make up for the weight difference with mods right.

And about the suspension, you're gonna upgrade it anyways right?
Just get some springs and some Koni shocks and you'll be outhandling the R1.
