Quiet Midpipe

Well I'm thinking I have clogged cats and eventuallY I'll want more power soon..so I'm thinking of getting a midpipe, ecu, etc.

I really don't want to be SUPER LOUD.

What's a good quality mid pipe that will keep the noise to a considerable amount.

I love how it sounds now....

That's the RX-7 Store resonated mid-pipe.

And drawbacks as to what? That specific mid-pipe, or mid-pipes in general? To answer the former, none that I know of, the latter, you'll have boost spikes since you'll no longer have any restrictions in your exhaust.

What's the difference between the high flow cat and the resonated midpipe? Obviously the high flow cat still has the cat and the resonated midpipe doesn't.

Decisions..decisions

the difference is about 20 hp. Seriously though if you are going with a MP you will have to install something to control your boost- manual boost controller, electronic boost controller, restrictor plate, etc... I believe that most hi flow cats will give you around 10hp, whereas the Mp will give you something more like 25mp. Expect to lose a little midrange power but a good bump in HP up top with the MP.There are the new Metallit Cats that are supposed to flow almost as good as a Mp but they are expensive. I just ported my wastegate and bought a greddy profec B sepc II so that I can run a midpipe along with my M2 ecu.

I have the Petitt resonated mid-pipe and now that I'm non-sequential it's terribly loud. Anytime I run hard I am afraid of cops hearing it. I like some grunt, but my God! Does anyone have any comparisons? Even just a bit less would be great!

I always read about Jimlab recomending some kind of Borla Muffler, that flowed well and was uber quiet. He said it was great for a midpipe kinda deal.

I have seen a Pettit and it had a glass-pack looking thing in it, so I am not surprised it's still loud. I went from a regular midpipe to one with a Magnaflow muffler welded in. Drastically decreased the sound at idle and cruise, but she still screams at WOT. Made good power with it, too . The resonated midpipe that I am running is basically the same one sold as Gotham.

I am using a 3" Magnaflow in the middle of the 3" midpipe. Haven't had a chance to run it yet, but my experience with Magnaflows says it's going to be nice and quiet.

My RX7Store RMP w/ the Magnaflow is much quieter than the Straight MP and may even be quieter than my old N-tech HF Cat.
