Questions for those who have their batteries relocated and drag.
For you guys that have you battery in the car, like behind in one of the rear bins.
What kind of setup do you have and do they give you **** at the track?
I mean how many of you guys have kill switches mounted on the outside of your car?
I know that its an NHRA rule, so I just wanted to know what all you guys with relocated batteries do.

well I know a lot of people that run kill switches on thier street cars will mount the switch behind thier rear plate, then when they go to the track, they just take the plate off.
But as far as the battery box goes. this is reason I haven't relocated my battery yet.

I got a battery box from Kreagan for about 20 bucks and I mounted mine behind the passanger seat with a kill switch mounted on the center console. I havent been to the track in years tho, and only ran high 12's tho . If you want to see my gettho setup tho, I can post a pic later....

Anyone else?
Thanks guys, when I went to sleep last night I thought about behind the plate or hide on behind the back up lights and just take one of the lights out.
What a pain in the ***.
Mr. Unit if you would post a pic when you get a chance that would be great.

Well, I havent done it yet for this reason. I still might not run a kill switch cause my local 1/4 mile track has thier own rules (its not a nhra track).
I'll tell you what I thought about though was running a swith that flat instead of using a toggle type swith and mounting it un the underside of the driver side mirror. I found a small and low profile one that I dont think would be scene from anyone unless you looked under the mirror. I was going to kinda recess it in there, the only thing is I wasnt sure how it would affect the mirror.
The other place I thought about was around the tag. You know how the tag is resesed into the bumper. I was thinking about using the same kind of switch mounted right above the tag. It would be on the resesed part kinda like where the tag light is on alot of cars.

Well dont tell anyone but I do not have a kill switch. They never even ask me so I dont ask them if you get my drift. But I dont think they really are to hard core unless you are in the big dog racing series and stuff. It is pretty easy going down here in Maryland

The battery box itself is suppose to be seal, since our cars are a hatchback and there is no actual firewall between the battery and the cabin. I bought the Morosso battery box, but have yet to put it in. I havent seen the techs bitch much about the kill switch, but i've seen them bitch about the cheap non-sealed boxes.

I had this same question but hadn't asked it yet. At my track they do check to see if you have the external swith if you have moved the battery. I really like the ideal of putting it behind the plate, I was also thinking of finding a small switch that I could put in when I go to the track that would fit inside of the keyhole for the hatch.
