Question about twin turbo disassembly

Quick version: My turbos busted an oil seal, so I got my hands on another set. Problem is my exhaust housing with the flapper valve is in better condition than the turbos I acquired. My question is What is an easy way of swapping them out. I want to take caution because I have taken a TO4E apart and I had to take great caution not to damage the exhaust turbines. How is it on the twins?

there isn't really an easy way that I can remember, i rebuilt mine two years ago. You have to take the entire assembly apart anyway to get to the oil seals. It isnt' to hard to be careful with the turbines. I didn't have any problem. You may need two types of 0-ring pliers. one small and one large

Im just looking to swap exhaust housings. I dont really wanna rebuild it. Ive got the new set of turbos sitting on my floor next to the old ones. Its just the old ones have less cracks.

The wheels (exhaust ) are very hard metal . you can mess them up if you want ( hammer ) but with normal care ,no problem . Do it tonight and ride tomorrow .

if you want to do all that trouble then i'll say take both apart and use the parts that are still good. You may have to order gaskets tho... but dont take my word, i never taken my turbo apart...

and while your at it, why doncha port the wastegate?

No write up it is two easy to do . but you should port the waste gate now it is apart as cihuuy wrote . All the gaskets are metal and if in good shape can be reused ,if in good shape . Turn the radio up and get to it , we will be riding tomorrow .

its a bit hard. if you want to remove the actual cartridge from the housing. disassembling the manifold is easy.
