PowerFC & Fans
Hi All,
I have searched on this topic & can not seemt o find the answer that I am looking for. Is there any way to change the temp at which the fans come on with the PowerFC WITHOUT having the Datalogit software (i.e. can this be done through the FCCommander) ? If so, how? Thanks in advance..ME.

Nope, you need the Datalogit to make that change. Unfortunately it can't be done with the Commander

Hooray For Boobies!!!
What I ment was, Instead of the fans turning off at like 92C, could I change that to 90C?
I didn't see a field in the datalogit program that had the shut off value in it. I could have missed it though.
Thanks

Why would you want a variance in operating temp? If you want your car to run at 90C then set the fans to come on at 90C, then your car will run between 89C and 90C. Why would you want to widen that gap and make it run between 90C and 100C?

Right now mine turn on at 98C. From Rynberg's post that means mine would shut off at 96C or so, which they do not. In the datalogit I have set mine to come on at 98C. If I watch my temp and fans, I notice that they shut off right around 92C. The car will slowly start to heat back up to 99C then the fans pull the temp back down. This is with no air across the rad (except what the fans pull)
Change the variance in operationg temp, well I would be trying to lower the operating temp some. I have notced that my car runs warmer then others in the same area and I would like to get my temps between 88-92 instead of 92-94.
Str8down: So if I set the temp to come on at 90C, then what temp will they shut off at? Because I noticed that they normally shut off at 92-93C.

I may have overlooked something or missed it, but I couldn't figure out if this was possible. Could you please explain how to change the input for the fans in greater detail or where I can go to teach myself.
Thanks

Go to the proper datalogit screen. There are three boxes for fan operating temps -- A/c, fan 1, fan 2. Mine are all set to 91C, for simplicity. I wouldn't set it much lower than that (except maybe for peak summer months), as your fans will be running all of the time otherwise, causing unnecessary wear.

Those boxes your talking about are to set the temp when the fans come on.
I was wondering if you could lower the temp when the fans turn off?

Just a general datalogit question, since I don't have one yet. Since the datalogit seems to do more than the commander, i.e. this fan/temp. issue, is there any reason at all to have a Commander anymore?

After becoming more familiar with both I think if I had to choose between the 2 I would choose datalogit because of the extra features you get with it, but that's just my opinion.
