Power steering ?, looking for a quick respose :)

Im changing out my pressure hose for the power steering right now for my FD, and I just removed the old hose. I bought an after market hose, and there is one part of the factory hose that the after makert hose does not have?

It is the part of the hose that connects the "bottom" section of the pressure hose into the steering rack. It has what looks like a "pin" that sticks out, and im not sure if fluid travels through that, or if it is just a pin that makes it easier to install the hose........( since you cant see anything) and has nothing to do with fluid whatsoever.

This is confusing to explain with no pictures, so heres a picture of the factory hose and the after makert hose..... http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...ersteering.jpg

besides that, everything else connects up fine, id realy appreciate the help, thanks.

IMO, the pin just looks like an alignment tab to keep the hose from rotating on the banjo bolt and getting twisted, interfering with something, or coming loose.

It certainly does not carry fluid.

yes dave is correct that is just a tab used to align it correctly and to prevent line twisting when tighterning. it is nothing to be concerned about.
