for those of you with FDs that are running properly i highly suggest HIDs. once you got HID you'll never go back. alas, for me lighting is the least of my concerns...

pictures probably won't help you. the HIDs i have on my accord are just a regular looking bulb. they also come with a ballast that supplies the initial voltage needed to get the bulbs going. it's a pretty much plug and play installation. only thing is you need to find a place to mount the ballast. the yellow light from the halogen bulbs is replaced with crisp, clear, clean white. it's bright as hell. when you drive at night just look at audis, bmws, acuras. of course those are oem so the beam pattern is better but regardless i am very happy with my HID upgrade.

Here is the thread back when I had mine installed. There are pictures of the ballast and ignitor installation on page 1, and a side by side comparison of the HIDs and halogens on page 2.

yes and no. yea, the hid are bright enough for the most part, but high beams are aimed UP (blinding on coming traffic), so they have very far range. on my accord i never need the high beams either. anyways, just to let people know, so they won't be surprise.

That post IS deceiving.....what we think dont mean ****! If ur goin to do this and lose the high beams just realize that IF you live in a state that requires annual (or every other yr, like NJ does) inspection you WILL FAIL inspection.....Now I know many ppl most likely have a hook somewhere and just go to a gas station to pay for their stickers. however for those of you who do NOT have a hook you shld know you may have a problem....And its not like the old days where you cld go to just about any gas station......DMV has cracked down BIG time for the past few yrs.....so those who still have their state license arent goin to gamble it.

Gdluck!

btw- I just bought a kit for my MC made by McCulloch for $455.........BELIEVE ME when I tell you this.....'support' means EVERYTHNG when you spend this kinda money for a non essential item. Do not chase after some of these no name brands just cuz theyre priced a lil cheaper, if they burn out thats it you can toss'em cuz you wont be getting any support any time soon.......The McCulloch brand is AMERICAN made and they back up their product! Not even Phillip(overseas) gives the kind of support McCulloch is kown for. My vendor is located 5 min away from the Headquarters and he has a friendly relationship w/ the sales/distributor guy, so he's assured me any problem I ever have w/ my unit will be taken care of. Heres a link to the site for those of you interested> http://www.mccullochhid.com/
If u wanna order lemme know and Ill see how I can help.

Thumbs up

I'm definitely interested in a set for my R1--If it's under $500 I'll order today

How exactly can you help? I'll prolly need some tech help with the installation...

They shld come out to less than $500 shipped to ur front door!

As far as tech goes what do you think ur gonna need???
Its basically plugNplay......I havent looked into these for the FD yet....only cuz I dont want to lose my HighBeams....I hate dealing with DMV!

How can I help? Not sure yet......but if we can get a few committed orders I cld probably get a similiar discount we got on our MC sets.....which was $475 shipped.
