Looks awesome, I see no rust in your future. Just out of curiosity how much did it cost for that much POR-15? On a side note do you happen to live near the biggest 6 pack in the world?

How exactly did you prep the wheel wells? Or stated differently, how would you suggest one prep the wheel wells?
I was cleaning my car after the last track day and found some spots in the wheel well that were down to the primer after 130k miles of use.

A lot of scuffing with scotch pads and whipping down with rags & the degreaser.
Spraying is the easy part. Surface prep is the work.

Awesome!
What are your plans with this car. It looks like you pulled almost everything off, why not the sub frame assembly? I can't tell but did you also yank all the harnesses out. I want to a full up restoration on my car and you look as if you've come the closest to doing what I have in mind. How much of a pain is this? Is the POR-15 paintable? Looking forward to the completion of your project, liked your website as well! Have fun.

Dang, this stuff sounds like just what I'm looking for. I was noticing that I've got a fair amount of rust on the underside of my FD. Some parts I can take off, sand, and repaint, but there are other spots that I really can't while the car is in one piece. How well does this stuff really work if you apply it over items that already have rust? I'm thinking a degreaser then a wire brush and then apply?

I recommend using the Marine Clean degreaser from POR themselves. Nothing I have tried works as well as it for degreasing. Also their surface prep is top notch. You definitively don't want fish eyes forming with POR-15 because you cannot sand it down!
Looks very nice I have used it under the car, on my diff and subframe the stuff is great!

Looks really good though, you guys did a very good job! I would love to do this one day but I don't know that I'm ready for that much tear down

I'm familiar with POR-15 from working on my antique car, it's great stuff. But I don't get the advantage of stripping the black undercoating and sound deadener and re-applying black POR-15. Did you have some rust issues to begin with?
And while it probably won't be a concern on the areas the OP used it, for anyone considering it, be aware that this stuff dries hard as brick so you don't want to have to sand it for a color coat. And it has no UV protection and will blush badly if exposed to sun.

Also instead of alot of scuffing with scotch pads I used a wire wheel on a drill and/or one on a grinder for a bit more surface bite.
Really looks good.

Por 15 will not break down from UV light, however it will fade. They make a paint that will go over it without all that sanding and grinding. I have used this product in a restoration and very pleased with it. Under the car where the sun cannot get at it, i would not paint over it, as the POR 15 gives off a very shiny look. It is quite hard and will protect the metal.
